Dear Sea Dwellers,

Sea Dwelling takes a major step in going “Green” by implementing a recycling program throughout the company.  All plastic, cardboard, paper and Styrofoam will never see the bottom of any landfill :)   We would like to encourage everyone to dispose of fish bags, and other packaging materials to your recycling bins to keep the chain going and do our part for the environment.  After all, our passion and livelihoods depend on it.

We received two weeks ago, a shipment from Africa containing the Blue Hornets from a new deeper area in the sea.  As per our recommendations to the supplier, these polyps were not collected in the same shallow tidal areas as before because of the difficulty we were having, fighting necrosis and polyp retraction.  Currently, we have been holding, treating and observing this batch for two full weeks now, and I am feeling confident that the majority of our inventory is very healthy and show excellent color.  Combined with our efforts to dip and clean each polyp rock, we have also found that higher levels of Magnesium has helped polyps open and remain healthy.

This week we launch into Summer with the same momentum as our NBA Champions, “THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS” had going into game 7.  We really appreciate the support and many grateful customers who appreciate and recognize the serious effort we have been putting into our product.  So even as we lower prices to give you more value, we step up the efforts to provide a better product than the day, week, or month prior.

We appreciate all the support and hope you let us know what we can do to make your orders better.

Best regards to all,

Eric and the whole SDC Crew!

Dear Sea Dwellers,

We are enjoying some true Summer weather which also brings great variety and stock levels.  I love this time of the year when it’s easy to get products with good weather helping collection efforts.

Last week we saw the first abundant showing of tiny sized clown triggers…which were not really so tiny…but perfect size.

Our Mexico partners started up last week as well with the first shipment of Passer angels along with bluespot jawfish, which were the first received from that area.

The stock list is aggressive and we are pulling out all stops to get you great pricing, without sacrificing quality which we never do.  In fact, we are pushing the bar higher every week and always discussing ways to improve.  It’s that ongoing effort to improve and provide a better product that makes our staff every special.

We appreciate all the support and hope you let us know what we can do to make your orders better.

Best regards to all,

Eric and the whole SDC Crew!

Dear Sea Dwellers,

Great inventory week with our coral selection, having some beautiful Australian corals arrive this week.  I can’t exactly tell you how many acan’s and other corals we have in stock, but it’s a lot!   I know the furnace is hot right now due to Monday’s high activity level.

We have been busy sdc’z around here lately doing some Spring cleaning, and digging deep into the husbandry department to improve our already high standards of fish and coral quality.  If you came around the warehouse these last couple weeks you would have noticed some people on high ladders scrubbing and doing the “dirty work” which leads to greater quality.

In preparing for the Summer Swing of things, we have chosen to make 100% sure your SDC’s orders will only be of top quality product.  We understand that quality and support are two very important things our customers and their customers can rely on when ordering through us.

We have also finalized some excellent Fed Ex rates to make shipping to your door more affordable and convenient.  Orders of 6 boxes or more, can now be shipped via Fed Ex on one custom made single pallet to maximize costs and compete with Airline rates.

Shipping multiple boxes on one single pallet eliminates the fear of having a lost box on a multiple box shipment, and also NO MORE HANDLING ISSUES with broken boxes as all boxes will now be shipped and remain on that pallet until arriving at your store location. The rates I have been negotiating for months are now available.

We have also achieved new shipping rates with Fed Ex for 2 day, 3 day and 4 day air.  This could be seriously looked at for big savings on shipping live rock and having it delivered instead of making a special trip to the airport.  Depending on your location and manpower, you might want to seriously consider taking advantage of this.

I believe the palletized shipments could greatly change the way many of you now ship your livestock.  Please email me or your sales rep for more information and watch for zone charts to be launched on our website to know exactly what rates you will be approved for.

Best regards to all,

Eric and the whole SDC Crew!

Dear Sea Dwellers,

I am feeling genuine! This industry demands nothing less, and that is what I have tried to give in the nearly 20 years I have been doing this professionally.  Once I started selling fish to customers all over the nation, I knew that honesty was the only way to go.

Sea Dwelling Creatures has always carried my philosophy in business, but with all the challenges we face each day, it’s not as simple as it sounds.  With airline delays, weather related issues, living animals etc….it’s all we can do to try our hardest, hope for the best, pursue to be the best, and be loyal to our customers while hoping they will be loyal back to us.

I have always sent out the message that I have an open door policy and want all our customers to know I am hear to listen and do the best and fairest thing for all involved.  It’s true, there is a balancing act to follow, but the right thing to do when faced with a difficult decision usually is clear for me to see.  I like to listen to customers, and offer the best advice and support I can.  Fortunately, I have two great partners and an amazing team of people working with us that together we can all get ahead and put some seriously good product into your arsenal!

Business is all about building relationships and we have made some great ones.  I don’t want this to sound all mushy, but I do appreciate everything around me and all the hard work we all put in each day, week, month, year…..on both sides….our staff and the customers with all their staff and so on.

This week might just be another week, but it’s one we can appreciate and realize how lucky we are to be working with ocean’s beauty.  I can’t think of a better way (well…horses would be my second choice:) to spend my time building and providing for us all.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions or comments so we can best serve you.  We really appreciate the feedback and want to hear from you.  Remember my open door (phone) policy:)

Best regards to all,

Eric and the whole SDC Crew!
