Pseudanthias aurulentus.
Pseudanthias aurulentus, commonly known as the golden anthias or yellow-lined anthias, is a species of marine fish belonging to the Serranidae family. It is found in the Indo-Pacific region, primarily in the western Pacific and can be found in coral reefs and rocky areas at depths ranging from 10 to 60 meters.
The golden anthias is a relatively small fish, reaching a maximum length of around 10 cm. It is characterized by its vibrant yellow coloration with a series of orange stripes running along the body.
These fish are active and social, often seen in large groups swimming above the reef. They feed on planktonic organisms and small crustaceans.
In the aquarium trade, the golden anthias is a popular fish due to its vibrant coloration and interesting behavior. However, it can be challenging to keep and requires a well-established and mature aquarium with plenty of hiding places and live rock for perching. They are best kept in groups of at least six individuals and may require supplemental feeding to thrive in captivity.
