Job Description: Sea Dwelling Creatures, Inc., one of the world’s largest marine livestock wholesalers, is currently seeking full-time and part-time employees to work in our husbandry department. This position will work closely with the Director of Husbandry to maintain the highest standard of water quality for our fish, coral, and invertebrate systems. The selected individuals will have the opportunity to be part of the SDC team, have fun, all while learning in this hands-on job opportunity. Some of the activities in which you will be involved with include, but are not limited to: animal husbandry, daily feeding, acclimation and quarantine of animals, diagnosis and treatment of disease, cleaning and upkeep of tanks, and helping staff with special projects including tank repair, plumbing and general lab work/water testing and related activities. This position is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in aquatic biology, aquaculture, and/or public aquariums. No prior experience necessary, all training will be provided.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of staff the selected candidate will be involved in all facets of husbandry including the following areas: -Water chemistry analysis -Daily feeding and animal care -Diet preparation -General life support system maintenance and operation -Culture of live foods -Acclimation and quarantine procedures -Proper sanitation of equipment
