Chaenopsis alepidota is a species of marine fish in the family Chaenopsidae, commonly known as the spotted cusk-eel. It is found in the western Atlantic Ocean, ranging from Florida to Brazil, and is commonly found in shallow waters of reefs, rock formations, and seagrass beds.
The spotted cusk-eel has a long, slender body and a distinctive head shape, with a large mouth and a protruding lower jaw. It is typically yellow or greenish-yellow in color, with numerous small, dark spots covering its body. It grows to a maximum length of around 15 cm.
