Parupeneus cyclostomus.
The Yellow Goatfish, Parupeneus cyclostoma, is also known as the Gold-saddle Goatfish. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. The entire body is a bright yellow color. Adults may develop gray or blue thin stripes on the face.Goatfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as fresh and frozen seafood, including mysis and brine shrimp and chopped squid, scallops, fish flesh, shrimp, clam, etc.The Yellow Goatfish requires a covered aquarium of at least 180 gallons with plenty of live rock, sand, and room to swim. They will sift through the sand for tiny inverts, crustaceans, and worms. They can grow very large, up to over a foot and a half long. These fish are consider reef safe “with caution” because although they won’t typically bother corals, they will eat invertebrates.
